Looking for contributors

Pee Dee Folks is looking for people who would like to contribute brief articles about happenings in the smaller communities in the Pee Dee Region which go under-served by the city newspapers. There is currently no funding of any kind for this project, but exposure is always helpful for beginning writers. Perhaps a little brainstorming will help to remedy the financing issue.

Janice D. Green didn't start life in the Pee Dee region of South Carolina; but moving from Nashville TN to Pageland in 1970 and fresh out of college, she still had some growing up time left to do. She moved again several times, always in the Pee Dee. Eventually she settled in Cheraw for twenty years, then moved to her present home in Hemingway where she has been for the last eighteen years. Janice says, "The Pee Dee has been good to me. I hope to find ways to encourage the people of the Pee Dee to preserve their rich heritage, and I offer this blog as one way to do so." Hi Janice,
I live in Quinby, a little suburb of Florence, and would be happy to contribute some short pieces of things happening here. I noticed it’s not on the list of towns and maybe it could be added. Let me know if you’re interested.

  Robin, I will be thrilled to have you post about Quinby. The towns listed at the bottom of the blog are all links to their web pages. Does Quinby have a web page? If so I’ll add it. Also, as soon as we get a post up about Quinby, it will appear in the “Categories.” I’ll plug you in as a user, so watch your email (and junk email) so you will know how to get in to post. I suspect you will already know what to do from there. I’m delighted that you will be writing about Quinby!
